A borbirtok Szicília központjában, tavak és dombok, búzamezők és olajfák között fekszik, ahol a bort ugyanúgy készítik, mint kétszáz évvel ezelőtt.

A történelmi Regaleali vidék a Tasca család otthona 1830-tól.

A sziget klasszikus, őshonos szőlői – Catarratto, Inzolia, Grillo, Perricone, Nero d’Avola – találhatóak meg a birtokon. 

A Regaleali birtokon nem csak szőlőültetvényeket találunk: itt ősi búzát termesztenek kenyér- és tésztakészítésre, itt legelnek szabadon az őshonos Comisana fajta juhai, és a Tasca d'Almerita egyik exkluzív, nagyon intenzív extraszűz olívaolaját is itt termelik.

Leírás

Ennek a bornak hosszú története van: 1970-ben készítette el először Giuseppe gróf, ami mérföldkőnek számított a sziget életében, hiszen ez volt Szicília első dűlőszelektált bora. Érthető módon ez a bor különleges helyet foglal el a borászat szortimentjében. A Rosso del Conte, mint zászlósbor azóta is elkészül minden jó évjáratban a San Lucio dűlőből. Az évek során a cuvée-t alkotó fajták nem, a borkészítés módja viszont annál többet változott, hiszen kezdetben gesztenye hordókban, később szlavóniai tölgyfahordóban, végül 1991-tól prémium francia barrique hordókba került.

A Rosso del Conte egy magas minőségű, hosszan érlelhető nagy szicíliai vörös cuvée: Nero d’Avola és Perricone fajtákból, majdnem fele-fele arányban. Illatában és ízében erdei piros- és feketebogyós gyümölcsök dominálnak, kiváló választás komolyabb sültek és vadételek mellé.

Az acéltartályos erjesztést követően másfél évig minőségi francia barrique hordókban érlelődött (Allier és Troncais).
